It is not uncommon that we all face hurdles in life. I mean, life means struggle. And struggles can come in different forms, and magnitudes.
It could be that you’ve been wronged; it could be that you’ve been betrayed.
You didn’t get what you deserved.
Your honest efforts to achieve something fell flat on your face.
You’ve been a victim of the atrocities of this society.
You could be at the wrong place, in the wrong time, that turned your life upside down.
What’s more, different people react to struggles, differently, in their own way.
Some of them are strong and deal with struggles head-on; and some of them are weak, and these life struggles take a toll on them. But no matter what, their soul is never the same after this.
Either they emerge stronger, or they become weak, and breakdown.
This story is about an amazing person, who is a fighter.
Who has been through many struggles in her life, and has emerged victorious.
Now she is lending out a helping hand to all those who are fighting a fight, daily - with her music. With her new single, "Aami Haarte Raaji Noi".
Meet Malini Banerjee!
"Aami Haarte Raaji Noi" (I’m not ready to give up) is a song written and composed by Malini, which inspires people to not give up because of their current adverse circumstances.
This song clearly tell us - you are not alone; you are not the only ones going through this pain. And if you keep fighting, then there is definitely light in the end of the tunnel.
Birth of the Song
Malini penned down the words in her diary from some intense personal experience.
Being the awesome artist that she is, she couldn’t help but think of turning this inspirational script into a song, to share with people.
As she says, she took help from her mother to pen down the exact emotions in Bengali.
One of the the first words that her mom came up with after reading her script was “Nishstabdho”, which means “silence”.
This was her struggle, and she wanted this to be an anthem to support all who needed the push to carry on.
This is how it went down - She met with Bodhisattwa Ghosh (from the band The Bodhisattwa Trio) in Delhi, and they discussed the song idea.
To Malini’s surprise, he understood the song exactly as she pictured while writing it. And all the pieces fell into place.
Then they got the rest of the team together, that comprises of Gaurab Chatterjee (on the drums), Sudipto Paul (on the Keys) and Aakash Ganguly (on bass), along with Bodhisattwa (on lead guitar) and Malini (on vocals).
After that it was just a cake walk for them to complete the entire song, which turned out to be exactly what Malini had dreamt.
“All of us, at some point in time, felt what I’ve expressed in this song. So, it’s not just my song. This is your song as well.” ~ says, Malini

The song was officially released on August 7th, 2019 at Kolkata’s one of the most promising venues for live music, TopCat.
Malini and her band did a short and sweet show by performing some of her originals, and some covers, such as Imagine by John Lennon, and more.

The final song of course was “Aami Haarte Raja Noi”.
The official release was graced by prominent musicians - Amyt Dutta, and Siddhartha Ray (frontman of the Bengali Band Cactus) and renowned jute revivalist, Mrs Chaitali Das.
And of course the launch party saw a lot of happy faces, who were delighted to be a part of this revolutionary anthem!
